英语:Unit 3 What would you like? A Let's talk

ⅠTeaching aims:

1. Students can learn some new words “hungry”, “thirsty”and “sandwich”. They will also know the sentence patterns “What would you like to eat / drink”"and “I’d like...”.

2. Students’ ability to find key information from listening conversations will be developed, and their oral English and listening abilities will also be improved.

3. Students will know the importance of cherishing and saving the food in their daily life.

II Teaching key point and difficult points:

Key point:

How to improve students’ oral English and listening ability. Difficult points:

How to encourage them to talk freely.

How to cultivate their awareness of saving food in their daily life.

III Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Warm-up and Lead-in

First of all, greet the students briefly and then sing a song for them. The song is like this:

Can I take your order? Can I take your order? Can I take your order?

What would you like to eat?

Next, lead out the topic:What would you like?

Step 2 Pre-listening

Draw three pictures on the blackboard and let the students watch them carefully and guess what these are. Then explain those words for students. Then ask students to think if they were in a restaurant, what kind of conversation they might have. My students will think of the sentence patterns mentioned before and tell me the answer.

Step 3 While-listening

Tell the students that Sarah’s families are talking about what they would like to eat and drink, then let them listen to the conversations carefully and find out what Sarah’s father would like to eat and drink.

For the second time, ask students to listen carefully and pay attention to the pronunciation of some words and the intonation.

Step 4 Post-listening

Let my students to do a survey about what their classmates would like to eat or drink after school and they are going to share their results.

Step 5 Summary and homework

Summary: invite one student to be little assistant to summarize the lesson.

Homework: let students to be little designers and design a menu for their restaurants and then share their menus by using the sentence patterns they have learned.
